Mindfulness for Public Schools

Mindful Teens in Public Schools

We are a Nonprofit Organization dedicated to improving the mental health of the community

Overview

Public schools have an enormous influence on the development of our children; we entrust in the teachers and school officials to educate and assist our children. But often in these public school environments, the class sizes are so large that many of the children do not receive the assistance that they need. Additionally, children are often susceptible to peer pressure and other negative social influences. By providing a mindfulness-based preventative measure with the YOG Foundation, children at public schools can gain the tools to decrease their stress, improve their wellbeing, and increase their academic performance as well.

A Vision for a More Mindful Future

In the United States alone, over fifty million children attend public schools with the average school serving anywhere between 300 to over 600 students. On average, there are generally around 16 students per teacher, and with this high ratio, it can be difficult for students to get the one on one assistance they may need. In the academic environment, students are put under immense pressure to achieve high scores and get into ivy league colleges, leading some students to reach a mental breaking point. With the increasing stress and requirements put on young students, this has led to many behavioral and mental health issues in schools. But by implementing a preventative mindfulness program with the YOG Foundation, children in public schools can improve their mental health and gain the necessary tools to improve their academic performance as well.

The YOG Foundation Implements Mindful Yoga & Mindful Meditation Sessions Across Various Public Schools

By implementing a mindfulness program with the YOG Foundation, it can significantly improve both the quality of life and academic performance of children.

The Benefits of Mindfulness for Public Schools
